The Republic of Turkey dissociates itself from the references made in article 15 of
the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling
of Ships, 2009, to the international instruments that it is not party to, including
the United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea, 1982. The signing of Turkey of
the said Convention cannot be construed as a change in the legal position of Turkey
with regard to the said instruments.
