Austria

The Republic of Austria, according to Article 25, paragraph 1 of the Convention for the Protection of the Architectural Heritage of Europe, declares that it reserves the right not to comply in whole with the provisions of Article 4, paragraphs c) and d).

Azerbaijan

In accordance with Article 24, paragraph 1, of the Convention, the Republic of Azerbaijan declares that it will be unable to guarantee compliance with the provisions of the Convention in its territories occupied by the Republic of Armenia until these territories are liberated from that occupation.

The Republic of Azerbaijan declares that it is unable to guarantee implementation of the provisions of the Convention in its territories occupied by the Republic of Armenia (the Nagorno Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan and its seven districts surrounding that region), until the liberation of these territories from the occupation and complete elimination of the consequences of that occupation (the schematic map of the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan is enclosed here).
The occupying power - the Republic of Armenia shall bear all responsibility for destroying architectural heritage in the occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan as from the date of the occupation until the liberation of those territories from the occupation and complete elimination of the consequences of that occupation.

Denmark

The Convention shall not apply to the Faroe Islands nor to Greenland.

France

17-03-1987

In accordance with Article 24, paragraph 1 of the Convention, the Government of the French Republic declares that the Convention shall apply to the European Departments and to the overseas Departments of the Republic.

Greece

07-07-1994

The Government of the Hellenic Republic declares that the accession of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia to the Conventions of the Council of Europe to which the Hellenic Republic is a Contracting Party does not imply the recognition of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia by the Hellenic Republic.

Ireland

20-01-1997

In accordance with Article 25, Ireland declares that it reserves the right not to comply with the provisions of paragraph 2.c of Article 4 of the Convention.

Netherlands, the Kingdom of the

The Kingdom of the Netherlands declares, in accordance with Article 25, paragraph 1, of the Convention, that it reserves the right not to comply, in whole, with the provisions of Article 4, paragraphs 2c and 2d.


09-01-2012

The reservation made by the Kingdom of the Netherlands at the time of acceptance of the Convention, on 15 February 1994, is confirmed for the Caribbean part of the Netherlands (the islands of Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba). The reservation remains valid for the European part of the Netherlands.

Slovakia

The Slovak Republic, in accordance with Article 25, paragraph 1, of the Convention for the Protection of the Architectural Heritage of Europe, declares that it reserves the right not to comply with the provisions of sub-paragraph 2. d of Article 4 of the Convention concerning the compulsory purchase of a protected property.

United Kingdom

13-11-1987

In accordance with the provisions of Article 25(1), the United Kingdom states that Article 4(c) of the Convention cannot at present apply to Northern Ireland.
