Reservations
1. Under article 18, paragraph 1 of the Convention, the German Federal Republic reserves the right to not apply or partially apply the provisions relating to claims as referred to in article 18, paragraph 1 (a) and (c) and the provisions relating to vessels as referred to in article 18, paragraph 1 (d) and (e) of the CLNI.
2. Under article 18, paragraph 2 of the Convention, the German Federal Republic declares that it will not apply the maximum limits of liability as set out in article 7, paragraph 1, second sentence, (a) and (b) to claims arising out of occurrences on its waterways.
Declaration
The German Federal Republic declares, in accordance with article 15, paragraph 2 of the Convention, that the Convention applies to all German waterways.

Luxembourg

Reservation
The Convention does not apply to claims for damage due to a change in the physical, chemical or biological quality of the water, nor to sport and pleasure craft or to vessels not used in navigation for profit.
Declaration
The Convention also applies to navigable parts of the Sauer.
Within the limits of article 6, paragraph 2 of the Convention, claims for damage to harbour works, basins, waterways, locks, bridges and aids to navigation will have priority over other claims.

Netherlands, the Kingdom of the

Reservation
The Convention in its entirety does not apply to:
a) claims for damage due to a change in the physical, chemical or biological quality of the water;
b) claims for damage caused by dangerous goods during their carriage, in accordance with article 18, paragraph 1 (a) and (b) of the Convention.
Declaration
The Kingdom of the Netherlands declares, in accordance with article 15, paragraph 1 of the Strasbourg Convention on the Limitation of Liability in Inland Navigation (CLNI), that the Convention applies to all Dutch waterways.

Switzerland

Reservations
a) The Swiss Confederation excludes the application of the provisions of the Convention for claims for damage due to a change in the physical, chemical or biological quality of the water (article 18, paragraph 1 (a)).
b) The Swiss Confederation excludes the application of the provisions of the Convention for sport and pleasure craft and vessels not used in navigation for profit (article 18, paragraph 1 (d)).
c) The Swiss Confederation will not apply the maximum limits of liability set out in article 7, paragraph 1 (a) and (b) of the Convention (article 18, paragraph 2).
Declaration
In addition, the Swiss Federal Council declares that the Swiss Confederation, in accordance with article 15, paragraph 2 of the Convention, will also apply the provisions of the Convention to the section of the Rhine between Basel and Rheinfelden.
