New Zealand declares that, consistent with the constitutional status of Tokelau and taking into account the commitment of the Government of New Zealand to the development of self-government for Tokelau through an act of self-determination under the Charter of the United Nations, this Acceptance shall not extend to Tokelau unless and until a Declaration to this effect is lodged by the Government of New Zealand with the Depositary on the basis of appropriate consultation with that territory.

[D]eclares that, in view of the fact that Peru is not a State Party to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea of 1982, any reference in the Agreement on Fisheries Subsidies to this Convention and to ocean spaces as designated therein will be applicable to Peru only in so far as this reflects customary international law or general legal principles.
The present declaration is not intended to modify or exclude the legal effects of the provisions of the aforementioned Agreement, but rather seeks to place on record the position of Peru on these issues.
