Denmark

24-06-1969

In connection with the deposit of the instrument of ratification by Denmark of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals during International Transport, it is hereby declared, in accordance with Article 50.1 of the Convention, that until further notice, the Convention shall not apply to the Faroe Islands and to Greenland.

Ireland

14-03-1975

Pursuant to the agreement between the authorities of Ireland and the authorities of the United Kingdom in accordance with the provisions of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals during International Transport, Article 3 of the said Convention shall not apply to transport to Northern Ireland.

Italy

I have the honour to inform you that, according to the provisions of Article 47, paragraph 1, of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals during International Transport, the competent authority for consulting with the other Contracting Parties on the interpretation and the application of the said Convention, is, as far as Italy is concerned, the Ministry for Health.

Luxembourg

In accordance with Article 37 of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals during International Transport (Revised), the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg will continue to apply the Convention of 1968 as amended by its Additional Protocol of 1979 until the entry into force of the revised Convention.

Norway

Russian Federation

The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics declares that the provisions of Article 50 of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals during International Transport, according to which the Parties may extend the Convention to territories for whose international relations they are responsible, should not be used to the detriment of the provisions of Resolution 1514 (XV) on the granting of independence to colonial countries and peoples, adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations on 14 December l960.

Sweden

Switzerland

In accordance with Article 37 of the European Convention for the Protection of Animals during International Transport (Revised), Switzerland will continue to apply the Convention of 1968 as amended by its Additional Protocol of 1979 until the entry into force of the revised Convention if the denunciation of the 1968 Convention is not effective at the time of entry into force of the revised Convention.

Türkiye

The Government of Turkey, while ratifying the European Convention for the Protection of Animals during International Transport, declares that it does not consider itself bound to carry out the provisions of the said Convention in relation to the Greek Cypriot Administration, which is not constitutionally entitled to represent alone the Republic of Cyprus.
