At the time of ratification of the Sixth Protocol to the General Agreement, the French Republic declares that, in accordance with its usual practice regarding fiscal or customs exemptions granted to diplomatic envoys, it understands Article 1 in fine of the Protocol, as far as it grants such exemptions by assimilation of judges to diplomatic envoys, as applying neither to its nationals nor to the "permanent residents" on its territory.

The Republic of Moldova declares that the Sixth Protocol will not be applied on the territory effectively controlled by the authorities of the self-proclaimed Moldavian Dniestrean Republic until the final settlement of the conflict in this region.

By the adoption of resolution CM/Res(2022)2 on the cessation of the membership of the Russian Federation to the Council of Europe on 16 March 2022, at the 1428ter meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies, the Committee of Ministers has decided, in the context of the procedure launched under Article 8 of the Statute of the Council of Europe, that the Russian Federation ceased to be a member of the Council of Europe as from 16 March 2022. The legal and financial consequences are specified in Resolution CM/Res(2022)3 adopted on 23 March 2022, at the 1429bis meeting of the Ministers’ Deputies.

The Government of the United Kingdom confirms that the following reservation to Article 1 made on ratification of the Sixth Protocol shall also be extended to the Isle of Man:
(...)
"Until such time as the necessary legislation is enacted, the United Kingdom reserves the right not to apply Article 1 of the Sixth Protocol in respect of spouses and minor children of juges."

... to refer to the reservation of Article 1 of the Sixth Protocol to the General Agreement on Privileges and Immunities of the Council of Europe (ETS No. 162) made by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on ratification of that agreement on 9 November 2001. The reservation reads: "Until such time as the necessary legislation is enacted, the United Kindom reserves the right not to apply Article 1 of the Sixth Protocol in respect of the spouses and minor children of judges."
... to inform you that the Government of the United Kingdom hereby withdraw the above reservation with respect to the United Kingdom. The reservation will continue to apply with respect to the Isle of Man until such time as the necessary legislation there is enacted.
